[KXLY News 4] "Spokane City Council members were considering options to delay the demolition, sighting a need for time to evaluate ways to save the Mohawk, and Rookery buildings. Council President Dennis Hession met with the owner of the property, Wendell Reugh, on Friday, and secured a temporary postponement. Ruegh had planned on leveling the block, in order to make room for a new parking lot. Under Hession's proposal, the city would own the property, and authorize a development company to redevelop the property, and restore the buildings to their original design. "
