Well this week I was able to start my internship with Thinking Cap Communications, a graphic design studio in downtown. Ok, well maybe not quite an internship, so much as a gopher getting double soy lattes. But I am grateful for the opportunity to even be at a graphic design studio before starting school in the Fall for graphic design.

It still amazes me how much my life has changed in the last year. Eight months ago I quit my job at a dysfunctional law office, wondering what would be next for me. In probably the most amazing 8 months of my life I found and moved in with the love of my life, I have traveled to New York and Los Angeles, won enough scholarships to pay for my first year of college, and to top it off I was graciously given the opportunity to display my first photography exhibit. (Insert shameless plug here. My photos will be on display through June, so check them out at Gina's Design Corner at 1 North Browne, in downtown.) And all of this while keeping up with Spokurban.com. It has been quite the whirlwind and I wouldn't change it for the world.

And now here's your Oprah moment and the lesson I have learned from all of this. No matter what it takes, be true to yourself and pursue your passions in life. Chasing anything less isn't worth your time.
