Well it looks like the forecast calls for rain, but you will still find die-hard parade fanatics at the 68th annual Spokane Lilac Festival in downtown Spokane. It amazes me how many people show up for this parade each year. You can find true enthusiasts claiming key lawn chair locations hours before the parade even begins. Check out the website for a full list of activities.
[Spokane Lilac Festival] "Please join us on May 20, 2006 for the 68th Annual Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight Parade. The Parade is always held on the third Saturday in May, Armed Forces Day, as we honor the men and women of all branches of the United States military services. With the theme "Kids are the Key..." we will be celebrating the youth of our communities and having some great fun as once again the Parade will be preceded by the "Cruisin' the Falls Classic Car Show". This year we will also host Sand in the City, a sand scuplture contest July 14-15 on Wall Street in downtown Spokane. The annual Lilac Festival Golf Tournament will be held at Wandermere on September 30, 2006. Please check the calendar for a complete listing of events."
