Well it's officially the one year anniversary of What a great year for my blog to debut as downtown was in full swing. And what a difference a year makes. The new convention center expansion has been built, downtown's first high-rise in 20 years is in the construction phase, a new fountain welcomes visitor to Riverfront Park, more coffee shops then I can count have opened to feed our caffeine cravings, and an assortment of restaurants have graced all corners of downtown. And these are only a few of the projects that have been completed this year.

I thought it would be fun to give you a look at what looked like one year ago. I got the idea from a website I visited the other day called The Wayback Machine, a delightfully addicting site keeping an archive of old internet webpages, some dating back as far as ten years ago. (Check out the various versions of the Spokesman-Review over the years.)

So below is a photo capture from the old site. I can't help but laugh at the pre-made template I chose to use, it was the best of the worst. I guess this is kind of like looking back at old outfit you once wore and saying what was I thinking?

I hope you have all enjoyed my small space on the world wide web. It has brought me nothing but joy to provide it. If nothing else I wanted to get a dialogue going on downtown. Between the forums, posts, comments, and e-mails I think I have accomplished my goal. Thank you for believing in downtown as much as I do. Here is to another exciting year!
